1. About SpaceFix

SpaceFix is a native macOS storage utility developed and operated by Hasan Saleem. It explains supported storage, separates verified cleanup candidates from items that need review, and performs cleanup only at the user’s direction.

2. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to the SpaceFix website and the Mac App Store version of SpaceFix. It describes the current production website and audited App Store build.

3. Information Processed on Your Mac

Your storage scan stays on your Mac. SpaceFix locally processes information needed to measure storage, classify supported items, explain recommendations, show changes, and carry out cleanup actions you select.

4. File and Storage Information

Local processing can include paths, file or display names, sizes, modification timestamps, storage classifications and totals, directory structure, caches, temporary files, logs, Trash information, developer storage, and application or startup information. Scan results are not sent to SpaceFix servers.

5. Local File Content Processing

SpaceFix primarily analyzes file and storage metadata. Certain features may read limited or complete file data locally when needed for exact duplicate verification, supported security checks, or property-list inspection. SpaceFix does not upload that personal file content.

6. Storage Assistant and Apple Foundation Models

Where supported, Storage Assistant uses Apple Foundation Models on your Mac. It may use your question, recent conversation context, scan totals, display names, categories, sizes, safety states, explanations, and storage changes. Full paths and scanned file contents are not supplied to LanguageModelSession, and SpaceFix does not send scan context to an external AI service.

7. macOS Permissions

The Mac App Store version uses the macOS App Sandbox. Where broader access is needed, you choose folders through Apple’s folder picker and macOS can preserve that access with security-scoped bookmarks. SpaceFix does not request Full Disk Access or Apple Events permission in the current App Store build. If access is denied or revoked, some locations remain unavailable and results may be partial.

8. App Store Purchases

Apple processes Mac App Store purchases, introductory-offer eligibility, subscriptions, renewals, cancellations, and payment details. SpaceFix uses StoreKit to read product and verified entitlement status. Its application code does not receive your full payment-card number, CVC, or Apple Account password.

9. Information Sent From Your Mac

The current Mac App Store build has no custom SpaceFix account, licensing, analytics, or scan-upload backend. StoreKit communicates through Apple’s platform. Links you choose may open this website, the App Store, macOS Settings, or Software Update.

10. Accounts and Contact Information

No SpaceFix account is required for the App Store version. SpaceFix does not require or collect your name, email address, password, phone number, physical address, or Sign in with Apple credentials through the app. Information you voluntarily send when contacting support is handled only for that request.

11. Analytics, Advertising and Tracking

Website analytics

The SpaceFix website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors find and use the website and to improve website performance. GA4 is blocked by default and loads only after you choose Accept analytics. Choosing Reject analytics keeps GA4 disabled. It processes website information such as pages viewed, page URLs, approximate location, device and browser information, referral/source information, scrolling, and link interactions, including App Store link clicks.

GA4 uses first-party cookies, including _ga and _ga_6LTX67853B, to distinguish browsers and maintain session information. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using Analytics preferences in the website footer. Rejecting analytics removes the website’s GA4 cookies and stops further analytics collection; the page reloads if analytics was already running. Your choice is stored in your browser for up to 180 days, including when you reject analytics. If browser storage is unavailable or the choice expires, analytics remains blocked until you accept again. You can also block or delete cookies using your browser settings. Google Signals is not enabled for this website. Google processes analytics information under its own privacy practices.

Website analytics is separate from the SpaceFix app’s local storage scans. Storage scan contents and file information processed locally by the app are not sent to Google Analytics.

Mac app analytics

The current App Store build includes no third-party analytics SDK, advertising SDK, custom crash-reporting SDK, or cross-app tracking. SpaceFix does not use App Tracking Transparency because the app’s current behavior does not track users across apps or websites.

12. Third-Party Services

Apple provides App Store distribution, StoreKit purchasing, subscription management, and related platform services under Apple’s own terms and privacy practices. User-initiated external links are handled by macOS or the selected browser. Google provides Google Analytics 4 for website analytics and processes analytics information under Google’s Privacy Policy.

13. Local Data Storage and Retention

SpaceFix stores settings, limited storage and cleanup histories, snapshots, security-scoped folder bookmarks, short-lived recovery metadata, and startup or login-item restoration records locally. Retention is limited by app-defined history counts or feature needs. Uninstalling the app or removing its local data may remove this information, subject to macOS behavior.

14. Data Deletion and User Controls

You can choose which folders to authorize, revoke folder access through macOS or by clearing app access, stop using a feature, uninstall SpaceFix, and manage or cancel the Apple subscription through your Apple Account. There is no server-side SpaceFix account to delete for the App Store version.

15. Security

SpaceFix uses macOS sandboxing, security-scoped access, local file permissions, StoreKit verification, and conservative cleanup checks. No software or storage operation can be guaranteed risk-free, so keep appropriate backups and review warnings before removing important data.

16. Children

SpaceFix is not directed to children who cannot legally agree to these terms or obtain software subscriptions in their country or region. Apple Account and Family Sharing rules may also apply.

17. International Users

SpaceFix processes scan information locally regardless of where you use it. Apple may process App Store and StoreKit information under its own regional terms and privacy practices.

18. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy when SpaceFix, its distribution, or legal requirements change. The Last Updated date identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated where required.

19. Contact

For privacy and support questions, contact support@macspacefix.com. Do not send passwords, complete payment-card details, private keys, or sensitive personal file contents.
